Growing up at East Dallas Christian Church, Shelbie always knew about Juliette Fowler. The church youth group visited Fowler frequently, whether it be for the holidays, summer swim parties, food drives, or cookouts. “Fowler is a beautiful, gated campus full of sunshine, huge old trees, flowers, walking paths, gardens, lovely courtyards for gathering, and so much more. Juliette Fowler offers so much to so many,” shared Shelbie.
Richard grew up in the Lakewood area, attended East Dallas Christian Church, went to Woodrow Wilson High School, SMU and University of Texas Medical School in Galveston. He raised his family and practiced medicine in the area for over 40 years.
When it was time to find a place to “live out his golden years,” no other community was considered. The comfort of knowing the area and the reputation of Fowler gave the family great comfort – dad was returning to a place he had always known. The thriving Lakewood area around Fowler had as much to offer as Juliette Fowler did.
Richard moved to Fowler in 2018. He loves the food – “It’s like going to your favorite restaurant for every meal!” – and enjoys the many informative programs, along with the barbeques and gatherings in the courtyard.
“Juliette Fowler amazes me and surpasses the expectations I had for my dad. The staff is like family; they always have a welcoming smile and warm hug, and everyone is greeted by name. No wonder it’s been ranked a Great Place to Work for 4 years in a row!” exclaimed Shelbie.
“Each day, I have a great sense of comfort knowing he is in a safe, caring environment – thank you for everything you do.”
