- Good afternoon Fowler Family!
- Today’s updates will be brief as we have a fun singalong planned at 2:15pm
- Yesterday, Dallas County reported its highest numbers to date with 10 deaths and 135 new cases including a 17-year old high school senior
- As you know, Governor Abbot will allow shelter in place to lapse Friday and many retail businesses and restaurants will be opening up with limitations to capacity
- His order does not open up senior communities
- We are clearly concerned that Dallas is opening with the Dallas Country numbers on the rise
- Judge Clay Jenkins expressed it well when he said “it’s up to all of you, both business owners and individuals to make really good personal responsibility choices”
- I will pleased to see that many business owners have trepidation and it was reported that most movie theaters have said they will not open
- We continue to weigh the science and recommendations in making our decisions – we take seriously the 353 resident and 150 team members lives that we feel responsible for
- As you have noticed, our decisions have evolved with new information and we continue to weigh and mitigate your risk
- Pandemics can have far reaching and maybe even unexpected impact
- NBC News has reported “Beef, chicken and pork could be as scarce as toilet paper soon because so many meat processing plants have been temporarily shut down”
- Chef Hector has shared that our food vendors are reporting some product outage
- For those of you who have dining service plans, you may see some different items on the menus in the future
- For those of you who order groceries, your preferred brands may not be available
- Some of your favorites may be sidelined for a while
- But I know that many of you have lived through food rationing before and you can teach the rest of us a thing or two about patience and perseverance
- Will we have enough to eat – yes. Will it be our preference, maybe not
- Please stay tuned, our singalong will start shortly – open your doors and be prepared to sing!
