- Good afternoon Fowler Family!
- Today, we have news that we hoped we would never have to deliver
- We remain COVID free as it relates to our residents
- However, we were notified that our first employee has tested positive for COVID
- Let me tell you what we know
- This person does not have direct contact with residents, but they do work in Pearl Nordan Care Center
- They only worked 1 day in the last 11 days
- The team member identified symptoms through our screening tools prior to coming to work on Friday and was tested by a personal physician that day
- Today, we received the heart-breaking news that the results of the COVID test were positive
- Fortunately, our teammate is doing well and has no known underlying health conditions
- It has been determined that the employees who work routinely with the impacted team member will be tested for COVID
- Our team was notified this morning
- Now that we have shared this information with you, we will begin calling our PNCC family members
- This afternoon, Nicole will deliver the message to the public through a video on Facebook
- This is a circumstance we didn’t want, but we have planned for it
- This has not changed anything for us – we will continue to follow our pandemic plan
- We have been vigilant in our protocols and we will remain vigilant to exercise every reasonable precaution to mitigate the risk of COVID
- As we shared with you last week, the state authorities were here last Wednesday for an impromptu survey to inspect our infection control and pandemic procedures and we were deficiency free
- We are hopeful that this is an isolated case
- Many other facilities have single cases – this could be our one and done too
- I am reminded of the scripture I shared a while back about Esther – “you were made for such a time as this” and that is what I will continue to tell our team
- John 16:33 says “I have said this to you so that in Me you shall have peace; in the world you face persecution but take courage I have conquered the world”
- We hold on to the promise that God has been with us, God is with us now, God will continue to walk with us as we trust in Him.
- Please keep our team member in your prayers
