COVID BRIEFING, JANUARY 05, 2021

  • Good afternoon Fowler Family!
  • COVID UPDATE:
    • Dallas County Health and Human Services reported 5,421 new cases Saturday through Monday
    • 27 deaths have been attributed to COVID Saturday through Monday, including 5 people who died in hospital emergency rooms
  • FOWLER UPDATES:
    • We currently have three FCA residents who are COVID positive, one in E Building and two in F Building – all are unrelated. This means that based on our contact tracing process, we have determined that their sources of exposures were probably all different
      • All three residents are quarantining in their apartments and doing well
    • We currently have three confirmed team members who have tested positive for COVID – Two at FCA, one in our youth program – these are not all new – only 1 is new from last Tuesday
      • All team members are continuing their quarantine and recovering well at home
    • Through contact tracing, we have identified those who need to be notified to discuss any potential risk of exposure and additional proactive measures
      • In this instance, everyone who lives on the floor with a confirmed case has been notified
      • Anyone who was named as having contact with a confirmed COVID case, has been notified
      • YOU WILL GET A PERSONAL PHONE CALL IF YOU ARE EVER DIRECTLY IMPACTED
      • We will always ask that you refrain from making phone calls to anyone else. Your neighbor deserves to hear it from us, in the same way that you did. Picking up the phone and calling other residents only heightens anxiety
      • Likewise, we ask that you join us in maintaining privacy for your neighbors and co-workers who are ill
      • Please do not pick up the phone and call all your neighbors and ask them if they are the one that has COVID!
        • That action is an invasion of privacy
        • Regardless of the person’s answer, whether they respond yes, or no, your actions do not change
        • Knowing “Who” does not change how you respond
      • Your response to a notification phone call from staff is to simply continue to maintain your focus on your own health
      • Everyone should:
        • Monitor your own health
        • Notify staff immediately if you suspect you are experiencing symptoms
        • Refrain from large groups
        • Wear your mask
        • Sanitize hard surfaces carefully
        • Wash your hands frequently
        • Socially distance a minimum of 6 feet – 10 feet is better!
        • STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE
      • We know that you may have concern for your neighbor; their priority must be on their health too
      • We also want to be careful not to attach blame to those who become ill
      • As a member of the Fowler family, we show compassion to everyone while remaining vigilant in our own choices and actions
      • Every choice we make, has a consequence
      • If you choose to leave the community, you put yourself and your neighbors at risk – everywhere you go, all of Fowler goes with you
      • Now is not the time to relax on the protocols that have helped protect you
        • Adopt STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE
        • Instacart your groceries
        • Amazon your soap and shampoo
        • Zoom with your friends and family
    • We have said all along that our choices impact others
    • Next week we start our vaccination process at PNCC and JLC and it is our prayer, our hope that most of you will choose to get vaccinated – we need you “well” for that to happen

I was having phone issues since last week; I happened to see Michael and asked him who I could reach out and he immediately volunteered to help. He replaced and programmed my new phone; he was my savior this week lol.” Way to make a difference, Michael!
