  • Good afternoon Fowler Family!
  • COVID UPDATE:
    • Yesterday, Dallas County added 364 new cases and 18 deaths
    • The vaccine site at Fair Park have reported that they have passed a milestone – they have vaccinated 250,000 people
  • FOWLER UPDATES:
    • New Visitation Policy
      • Starting tomorrow, 4/2, visitors will begin to enter the campus to see their loved ones. Complete details of our new visitor guidelines are on our website
        • Families and friends of residents living in licensed areas (Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing) will be required to schedule a specific date and time for their visit. Visitors can sign up for a visit through the Sign-Up Genius link that can be found on our website. Scheduling has been required by our regulations of these licensed areas
        • Families and friends of residents living in Independent Living areas are not required to schedule a specific date or time for their visit.
        • Visitors for both Independent Living and Assisted Living/Skilled Nursing will be required to check in with the front desk and complete a Visitation Acknowledgement Form every time they visit. A copy of this form is also available on our website

  • EVENTS
    • Operation Clean Sweep update was a success! Teammates from all around campus spent the day cleaning up work areas and storage areas
    • Chaplain Ve is holding our Good Friday Worship Service tomorrow at 2:30pm. I hope you can join us on Channel Six.
    • We will be holding a Celebration of Life Service will be on April 12th and we will be celebrating the lives of 11 residents.
  • IN MEMORIUM:
    • We grieve the loss of FCA resident Barbara M who passed away yesterday. Barbara M moved into FCA in November 2016. Barbara was a big personality who was always dressed to the nines, jewelry, makeup, and sass to match! We all loved her and will miss her dearly.  Please pray for all that loved B.
      • I know that any time we have a transition of residents it is always difficult for our teammates, so please check on each other
    • CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH
      • April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month which recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to strengthen families to prevent child abuse and neglect. Through this collaboration, prevention services and supports help protect children and produce thriving families.
      • As reported in their yearly report for 2019, the Office of the Administration for Children and Families, statistics of child abuse include the following:
        • Children who received a child protective services investigated 3,476,000 incidences in 2019, nationally.
        • The 2019 data show more than four-fifths (84.5%) of victims suffer a single type of maltreatment. Sixty-one percent are neglected only, 10.3 percent are physically abused only, and 7.2 percent are sexually abused only. More than 15 percent (15.5%) are victims of two or more maltreatment types.
        • In 2019, a national estimate of 1,840 children died from abuse and neglect which is an increase from 1780 children in 2018. This is why our mission is so critical. Through our service of foster to adopt, young women residency, and Youth Support Center. Fowler is doing our part to change the #s.
      • Throughout April, we will share the work that local agencies, including Juliette Fowler Communities, are providing to combat child abuse.
