- Wednesday January 20, Dallas County reported 3469 new COVID cases and 30 deaths.
- According to the state’s data, 91,594 people in Dallas County have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while 15,147 are fully immunized
- We have a LONG way to go
- FOWLER UPDATES:
- We continue our progress towards vaccinating all Fowler residents and team
- The choice to be vaccinated lies with you; it is our strongest recommendation that you be vaccinated
- It is when we are all vaccinated, that we can look forward to being with people we love and doing things we want to do – like travel, family reunions, weddings, and even funerals
- We have a team member who is unable to fly to her grandparent’s funeral and will watch it on Zoom tomorrow. While COVID is impacting her ability to be with family during this time, she is thrilled to be going through the vaccination process so that these family moments can happen in the future
- Currently, we are preparing for our upcoming Vaccine Clinics at FCA, PNCC and JLC
- FCA independent living residents will receive their first dose on Friday 2/5 and 2nd dose on 2/26
- THIS IS THE ONLY VACCINE CLINIC THAT IS CURRENTLY SCHEDULED FOR FCA; please take advantage of this opportunity
- A Vaccine Clinic will be held at JLC and PNCC on Wednesday 2/3
- This is a 2nd dose clinic for those who received their first dose on 1/13
- And a 1st dose clinic for those who did not get their first dose on 1/13
- Consent paperwork is required for both doses and must be completed timely
- ALL CONSENT PAPERWORK IS DUE FRIDAY JANUARY 29 for clinics on 2/3 and 2/5
- Caution: Facebook is not a news source.
- Social media is full of misinformation and opinions – OPINIONS ARE NOT FACTS
- It is important that you get your news from reliable sources
- We made a commitment to you months ago, that we would monitor and vet the information about COVID so that you received accurate and timely communication
- Our sources include the CDC, AMDA, our regulatory agencies and our medical professionals
- Dr Steven Bray, medical director at Fowler, will be speaking shortly about the benefits of the vaccine
- A handout will be provided along with your briefing notes today or can be viewed here: A Letter from Dr. Steven Bray
- We have recently been made aware of a phone-based scam targeting senior communities in which a caller presents themselves as a CVS employee seeking to verify a COVID-19 Clinic Date. The caller then goes on to say that the facility is being awarded a $100 Gift Card from CVS, and that there will be a $4 fee to ship the award, for which specific financial information will be required.
- This fraudulent proposal may also come through a voicemail message, asking you to call them back at a 1-866-number, where the same offer is made.
- Please be aware that CVS Health is not offering financial awards to facilities participating in the Onsite Vaccination Program. Furthermore, representatives of CVS Health will never contact you directly to ask you for payment
- If you receive one of these calls, do not provide them with any information. Take note of the phone number if possible and report to us immediately. We will contact the Federal Trade Commission who collects scam complaints
