- Good afternoon Fowler Family!
- Today, we have another critical message at Fowler
- We remain COVID free as it relates to our residents
- However, we received the heart-breaking news that our second teammate tested positive for COVID
- Let me tell you what we know
- This teammate did have direct contact with residents in the Carol Neighborhood of Pearl Nordan Care Center
- Their last day worked was this past Friday, June 12th
- The team member completed our screening to work on Friday and felt fine with a temperature of 97.2
- The teammate called in sick the next day on Saturday and went to the hospital on Sunday June 14th
- At the hospital they were diagnosed with double pneumonia
- Further, they were tested for the Flu and COVID
- We were notified yesterday their COVID test was positive
- Following our pandemic protocols, we immediately activated our emergency response, began contact tracing and our notifications
- Our skilled nursing team and our Carroll neighborhood residents and families were notified yesterday
- All teammates and residents in skilled nursing will be tested for COVID
- Testing began today
- In addition, in our 14 day look back period we identified two residents of JLC and 2 residents of FCA who received care in PNCC who are also being tested and quarantining at this time
- We have notified those residents and their families
- No residents are exhibiting symptoms at this time
- Fortunately, our teammate is doing well and will possibly be discharged from the hospital today
- This afternoon, Nicole will deliver the message to the public through a video on Facebook
- This is a circumstance we didn’t want, but we have planned for it
- This has not changed anything for us – we will continue to follow our pandemic plan
- We have been vigilant in our protocols and we will remain vigilant to exercise every reasonable precaution to mitigate the risk of COVID
- Remember when I announced our first teammate positive on April 27th?
- We did our testing and discovered it was an isolated incident
- We are hopeful that this is an isolated case
- Please keep our team member in your prayers
