Daily Briefings
We are continuing to implement our procedures for screening all team members and essential care providers. The process is going smoothly.
Our goal is to mitigate the impact – to flatten the curve. [see graph below]
We have setup an email and phone number for questions and have assigned staff to triage and respond.
Last night, the Mayor of Dallas, Eric Johnson declared Dallas a local disaster area
- Dallas County Health officials met with churches and asked that they consider alternative service options instead of public gatherings
- They have asked that all people severely limit social interaction and all events of 500 or more have been cancelled
- Up to now, our confirmed cases in Dallas have been individuals who have traveled to Dallas from another location. We now have a case of non-travel/community to community spread which has elevated concern
Governor Abbott has declared Texas a state disaster area
- All state resources have been redirected to COVID including personnel
- As of today, 39 confirmed cases in Texas
- 220 have been tested
- And 75 are being tested as we speak
- The state has setup a website for information – https://www.dshs.state.tx.us/coronavirus/
- State protocols for testing
- Currently have the capacity to test 270/day; additional labs are coming online next week
- Testing priorities have been set for individuals in high risk
- There has been a change in CDC protocols which is allowing testing to be done quicker
- First drive through testing facility came online in San Antonio with the goal of having one in Dallas by next week
- How to be tested
- If you experience the symptoms – cough, fever of 100.4, new shortness of breath – notify one of us immediately
- We will notify the public health department to administer the test
- The governor is working with area insurances to provide telemedicine
- Call 211 to find low cost or no cost providers in the area
