- Good afternoon Fowler Family!
- 239 new cases reported yesterday
- We continue doing everything we are doing in our Love Your Neighbors Basics
- Happy to hear our new dining options in Assisted Living are working well
- Social distancing dining can feel awkward, however its one step back in the right direction and we can celebrate this small change
- Changes effective yesterday under Abbott’s Open Texas
- Business operating at 25% can expand occupancy to 50%, with a few exceptions
- Bars and similar establishment can increase capacity to 50 % for seated patrons
- Restaurants may expand maximum table size from 6 to 10
- Amusements parks and carnivals, in counties with less than 1,000 confirmed cases, can open at 50% capacity
- Upcoming on June 12th
- Restaurants can expand to 75% occupancy
- Upcoming on June 19th
- All amusements parks and carnivals, regardless of confirmed cases, can open at 50% capacity
- The order indicates there will be special provisions for 4th of July celebrations, and they encourage all safety protocols be followed
- 4 reminders for going out
- Individuals are encouraged to wear appropriate face coverings
- People should not be in groups greater than 10, when possible
- People over the age of 65 are encouraged to stay home as much as possible
- People are asked to avoid nursing home, state supported living centers, assisted livings and long-term care facilities
- Regarding our briefing on Tuesday, fortunately we got few questions and it seems everyone is moving into the next phase successfully
- Once clarification requested is related to family/friends scheduling pick-up of IL resident Monday – Saturday 9a-5p
- Visits should be scheduled with your program’s team and although friends/family will not be allowed to enter before 9a, once with your family/friend you can come back later, since you, the resident, will be granted readmission upon return
- No visitors are allowed in the buildings or out and about on the grounds
- This is strictly a pick-up and drop off process
- Remember to ask the questions presented Tuesday and know your risk
- As it relates to our city’s other emergency, the protest continues and the latest was scheduled at city hall today at 11a
- Throughout the country, the call for peaceful protest was encouraged by a representative for the Floyd family, who indicated the rioting, burning and looting did not honor George’s life
- Also, yesterday the charge again Office Chauvin was upgraded to second degree murder and the other three officers were arrested and are now charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter
- It is possible this action is a step in the direction of justice
- We know more needs to be done
- Now is the time to encourage all people to educate and inform themselves
- This is not a political position one way or the other
- It is a position of encouraging involvement
- Learning ways to engage is social discourse
- Actively listening to others, especially others different from you
- And being part of the solution
- FOWLER NEWS: Today we conducted a call with HUD officials related to our project development called Juliette Fowler Residences
- I was very proud to share the story of Fowler, to talk about our community and how special it was as a result of the residents, team, board and volunteers
- The HUD officials were very complimentary of our community and the leader of the group had visited and could speak about Fowler firsthand
- We were very encouraged about the meeting and expect HUD to support our loan application, when we move forward with the project
- As a reminder, we anticipate the announcements of a project award in July
- Please keep this in prayer, as it will be a wonderful opportunity to expand our mission and provide safe and affordable living opportunities for members of the community at large
- Looking for a curbside dining option? I highly recommend The Original Chop House, Lakewood location, at Abrams and Mockingbird; try the shrimp lime chilled bowl YUM!
- Make it a great day on purpose!
