- Good afternoon Fowler Family!
- COVID Update
- Dallas County reported 382 new cases yesterday – our lowest number since mid-June
- Ninth-consecutive drop in the 14-day average
- However, we do know they are researching the results of two of the testing centers who are showing unusually low number of negative test results in comparison with the other sites. The UTD site shows only a 7% positivity rate and the Parkland testing site is showing a 17%.
- Last week, the mayor shared the following info about the COVID related deaths in Dallas
- Male 65%
- Female 35%
- Age:
- 17-40: 5%
- 41-64: 29%
- 65+: 66%
- Race/ethnicity
- White 27%
- Hispanic 44%
- Black 24%
- Asian 4%
- 75% had high risk conditions prior to COVID
- Fowler Updates
- Fowler remains COVID free – only due to our purposeful actions and our Love Your Neighbor Basics – keep up the good work in caring for yourself and others
- Tomorrow, we will kick off a new bible study with Chaplain Venessa at 1030am – every Wednesday for the next 6 Wednesdays
- The study is “Making Sense of the Bible” by Adam Hamilton, pastor at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Kansas. The church started with 4 people in 1990 and now has over 18,000 members at 5 locations – the largest UMC in the US.
- There will be packets at the front desk or let Venessa know and she will get one to you
- If you would like to participate in the Zoom, the instructions are on the front of the packet – Zoom participation would enable you to engage and ask questions
- The bible study will be shown on Channel 6 and you can also text Venessa with your questions
- The Grounds Guys continue to make progress – their focus is on cleanup right now – no landscaping plans have been
- Turns out, the grounds are very much like our taste in food
- Some people like more seasoning, some people like less
- We have a difference of opinion about what is a weed and what is a flower
- I’m proud we have created a community where people feel comfortable expressing their opinions – we always welcome feedback
- At the end of the day, our team is responsible for making decisions
- This is just another daily decision to make Fowler work, to make it attractive and appealing for those who live and work at Fowler
